Buying a children's play tent online
We sell children's play tents and nothing else, so this is the short version of what we have learned: which of the two suits which room, what actually arrives in the box, and what to measure before you order.
Which of the two to buy
The Princess Castle Play House is 140cm across and 135cm high, and it is a hexagon. That last part is the reason to choose it: a six-sided floor gives more standing room than a square tent of the same width, because the corners are where the walls slope in. Two to three children fit inside it comfortably.
The Fairy Play Tent is 121cm wide and 132cm high, and it is the one that comes with fairy star lights in the box. It fits a bedroom corner more easily, and it is the better buy if the tent is mostly for one child to read and sit in.
What actually arrives in the box
Both tents: the tent itself, sturdy poles, connectors, a carry bag and a step-by-step instruction manual. The fairy tent adds the star lights.
Neither includes a floor mat, so the tent sits on whatever surface you put it on, and neither needs a tool of any kind. If you want lights and you buy the castle, they are a separate purchase.
Indoors and outdoors
Both work either way. The mesh panels move air, which is what makes a fabric tent bearable in a garden on a warm day, and the fabric wipes clean when it comes back inside.
